Alliance Roofing Warehouse Fire

A three-alarm fire destroyed a roofing company’s warehouse in an industrial area of East Baltimore on Tuesday afternoon, and is now under investigation by local and state officials.

Baltimore City fire crews responded to the fire at Alliance Roofing Company around 3 p.m., according to Deputy Chief Khalilah Yancey. It was upgraded to a two-alarm fire at 3:02 p.m. and to a three-alarm fire at 3:35 p.m. as crews requested additional backup. Officials from Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County also responded to the fire. By 4 p.m., fire crews had blocked off much of Eastern Avenue between South Haven Street and Macon Street in the Canton Industrial Area, causing traffic backups across Southeast Baltimore and filling the air with smoke.
